Carter is now 5 1/2 weeks old! It is crazy how fast time flies. He is becoming more alert and his personality is really blossoming. Carter LOVES being outside so we decided to spend the day at the park. He loves the fresh air and being able to look around at new surroundings. We had a lot of fun!

3 is better than 2

On the 17th of June 2012, Shawn and I welcomed our little bundle of joy, Carter Paul, into our family He is our Father's Day baby! (The 10 months of pregnancy are over!!) Being a mother definitely has it's challenges: lack of sleep, saying goodbye to long showers and time to get ready for the day. Despite that, it is the greatest blessing and totally worth it. I love being a mother.

It's a BOY!!

Over 9 inches long. What a CUTIE! We had the privilege of going to my doctor yesterday and look what we found! We are so happy to be having a little boy. His little profile is too cute..we can't get enough of it. He's even waving (his hand is above his head)! He sure likes to kick. (I know its said that there is not correlation with whether he'll be into playing sports or what not, but I think he will; just like his daddy) We are so extremely happy and blessed to invite this little man into our family. Our little missionary:) Bring on the cars, trains, and superhero action figures!

Our little sweetheart

A little over 16 weeks! (picture: 14 weeks 1 day) What a precious blessing that is on the way. Shawn and I have felt so much happiness as we have been preparing ourselves for this beautiful privilege and opportunity to become parents. I cannot begin to express how much love I have felt from my Heavenly Father.
If you knew my views on parenthood months ago, you would think that I were a completely different person. Throughout my entire life, I have always dreamed of being a mother. Throughout grade school, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always respond, a mommy. I have always wanted to be a mother, however, it wasn't until I grew older that I realized I had planned my life out. Education, marry, More education, maybe 2 years later think about parenthood. For some, there is nothing wrong with this plan. However,  I realized something later on that I had never before realized. Plans change! The life that I plan will and must change at times in our lives and we must be willing to allow them to. Though I had my plan, I realized that God's plan is perfect, not mine. He has something in store for me, personally, right now. I am so excited to be a mother. Whether it's months after being married or years, if it is right for us at a certain time, God will let us know. Once I got over my fear of changing my plans in life, I found that I have never been happier. Life is not easy. It isn't intended to be or we would never grow. Nonetheless, the gospel is easy. If we listen to the promptings of the Spirit and allow God to guide our lives, we will be blessed. We cannot expect Him to guide our footsteps if we are not willing to take a step of faith ourselves.
I often think of His perfect love and trust in sending me His child and allowing me to teach, guide, nurture, and love this innocent and pure child so that I may grow.
We are so happy to have our little sweetheart.

Our Beginning

Time Flies! On the 11th of August 2011, I married my best friend. Though it's only been a little more than 5 months since we were married, it feels as though time is creeping up behind us. It's great fun though, being married. Shawn and I are currently living in the little bubble up in Rexburg, Idaho trying our best to get back into the life of hard work; work and school. We have recently been called as Family History Coordinators in our lovely ward. We feel so blessed to be in such a friendly and fun ward!
I have never had a blog before and know little about how to work them, but I think they are so great so here we go!
